Girls Soccer Roundup: Canajoharie loses to Catholic Central

TROY - Lexi Rifflebach scored four goals to lead Catholic Central to a 7-4 win over Canajoharie in a non-league girls soccer contest Saturday.

Madison Purcell scored twice for the Crusaders, while Kelsey Moss also scored.

Jenelle Dillenbeck had two goals and an assist for Canajoharie, while Bri Slater and Morgan Koelbl each scored once.

Hannah Bowerman added an assist for the Lady Cougars.

Lauren Balfe and Andrea Dingman combined to make 10 saves for Canajoharie.

Foothills Council

Broadalbin-Perth 5, Gloversville 1

GLOVERSVILLE - Katie Herba had two goals and an assist, leading Broadalbin-Perth to a Foothills Council win over Gloversville.

Danielle Biggers finished with two goals for the Lady Patriots, while Kelly Makarowsky had two assists. B-P's other tally came on an own goal by the Lady Dragons.

Chanel Thomas scored the lone goal for Gloversville.

Rachel Orapello made five saves for B-P, while Emily Washburn had 14 saves for Gloversville.

The Lady Patriots finished with a 20-8 advantage in shots.

Queensbury 3, Johnstown 1

QUEENSBURY - Brittany LaPlant had two goals and an assist, leading Queensbury to a win over Johnstown.

Claire Hubbs finished with a goal and an assist for the Lady Spartans, while Katie Shevlin had an assist.

Kendra McCoy scored the lone goal for Johnstown.

Sarah O'Brien made one save to earn the win in goal for Queensbury.

Briana Esposito registered 17 saves for Johnstown.

Scotia-Glenville 9, Glens Falls 1

SCOTIA - Maddy Carroll finished with three goals and an assist to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win.

Kelsey Martin had two goals and an assist for the Lady Tartans, while Abby O'Connor had a goal and three assists. Gracie Mailey finished with a goal and two assists for Scotia-Glenville, while Dominique Puglisi had a goal and an assist. Lauren Zeglen also scored for the Lady Tartans.

Skylar Girard scored the lone goal for Glens Falls.

WAC

Northville 2, Mayfield 0

MAYFIELD - Mary Ryan had a goal and an assist to lead Northville to a shutout win.

Lyndsey Wadsworth also scored for the Lady Falcons.

Megan Frasier made 16 saves for Mayfield, which was outshot by an 18-2 margin.

Mekeel Christian 5, Fort Plain 1

SCOTIA - Macie Holmes finished with three goals an assist, leading Mekeel Christian Academy to a win over Fort Plain on Friday.

Lindsey McCarty had a goal and an assist for the Lions, while Nicole Pigliavento also scored.

Katie Trembley scored the lone Fort Plain goal on a penalty kick.

Rebekah Dean made three saves to earn the win in goal for Mekeel Christian.

Britney Doxtader and Michele Stevens combined for 12 saves for Fort Plain.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Duanesburg 2

DUANESBURG - Delaney Martin scored three goals to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a WAC South Division win over Duanesburg on Friday. Kristen Norray had an assist for the Bulldogs.

Emily Barnes scored for Duanesburg, which also benefitted from a Berne-Knox-Westerlo own goal.

Monique Britton finished with nine saves for BKW, while Nicole Cassale made eight saves for Duanesburg.
