FONDA - An Amsterdam man was sentenced Tuesday in Montgomery County Court to three years in prison and two years of post-release supervision for slashing a man with a box cutter.

Angel L. Morales, 19, of 39 Guy Park Ave., pleaded guilty to assault on July 10. The incident took place in the city on June 15.

In other county court action:

Ferdinand Rodriguez, 35, of 4 Vrooman Ave., Amsterdam pleaded guilty Tuesday to criminal sale of a controlled substance.

The plea stems from an Aug. 10, 2011, incident in which police said Rodriguez sold cocaine.

Rodriguez is expected to get three years in prison, two years of post-release supervision and $90 restitution, when he is sentenced Oct. 21.

Waleed A. Rana, 23, of 11 Gifford Ave., Fultonville, pleaded guilty Tuesday to burglary.

The incident occurred July 6 in the town of Mohawk.

Sentencing was adjourned to Oct. 22. Rana is expected to get 3 to 6 years in prison when sentenced Oct. 22.
