Donations will help girl

August 22, 2013
The Leader Herald

On June 15, a benefit was held at the Concordia Club for my 7-year-old great-niece Taylor Kucel. She was diagnosed on Feb. 26 with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare form of childhood cancer in which malignant cells form in muscle tissue. She was transferred to the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, where her doctor's treatment plan consists of 54 weeks that include chemotherapy, radiation and possible surgery.

Money raised at this benefit will help offset some of the escalating medical expenses that are accumulating. We would like to thank family, friends, co-workers, businesses and the entire community for your generous donations. A special thanks to Grace, a young girl who donated money she had saved after seeing a benefit flier for Taylor posted at a Stewart's Shop.

On July 1, Taylor had a pet scan to see how she was responding to treatment. The report showed significant improvement with excellent response from the treatment. She is continuing with chemotherapy treatment along with radiation to complete the 54-week plan.

Thank you again for your concern, support and prayers as Taylor continues her treatments.

LOUISE KUCEL and family
