GLOVERSVILLE - A city man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend's hand and bent it backward before threatening to kill her if she attempted to call for help, police said.

Zachary R. Manzar, 28, of 20 Oakland Ave., was arrested by city police and charged with third-degree attempted assault, unlawful imprisonment and coercion, all misdemeanors.

Police said after being dispatched to Manzar's address for the report of a family dispute, he was reported as grabbing his girlfriend's hand and bending it backward.

He was also charged with unlawful imprisonment after he threatened to kill his girlfriend if she tried to contact police and held her against her will inside the residence, police said.

He was held for arraignment.
