Thomas R. Hamm passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y., after a short illness struck him suddenly. He was born September 16, 1948, in Amsterdam, N.Y., the son of the late Vernon and Marion Hamm.
Thomas was last employed as a roofer for Correll roofing in Gloversville, N.Y. He loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and amazing love for his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammie Woody from Cottage Grove, Oregon; daughters, Courtney and Danielle Hamm, Amy VanNostrand and Michelle Winchell of Gloversville; a son, Jeremy Hamm of Amsterdam; his grandchildren, Kira Bishop, Karen Billa, Nicole Cook, Skosha VanNostrand, Dylan Clute, Michael, Tina, John, Jordan, Tyler, Cassidy Hamm, Cameron Colon and Javion McClinton; as well as four great-grandchildren.
There will be no services as per his request. A gathering and benefit of a celebration of life will be held. It will be on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Devoe Park from 1 to 5 p.m. Any donations will help the family with the cremation and medical expenses. Arrangements are by the Gloversville Funeral Service.
