Jazz concert set at Palatine Church

July 31, 2013
The Leader Herald

PALATINE - The historic Palatine Church will venture "out of the box" in its upcoming summer concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release.

The Augmented Jazz Duo will perform a program including historic sounds from Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Count Basie, Dave Brubeck and others.

"Unlike the classical music usually presented at the Old Palatine Church, the jazz medium is for the most part on-the-spot improvisation," the news release said.

Donations will be accepted at the door.

The Palatine Society presents three concerts each summer.

The building, still in its original state, is on Route 5 between Nelliston and St. Johnsville.
