Chester J. Bujanowski, 83, of Martin Road, Fonda, NY, passed away Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013, at home.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Chester T. and Winifred Rogozynski Bujanowski.
Chet received his education in the Amsterdam school system and also attended Amsterdam School of Commerce.
He retired from Knolls Atomic Laboratory in West Milton, NY.
Chet was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a member of Laborers Union Local 157.
Chet is survived by six children, Kimalee Egan (Peter Knapik) of Fonda, NY, Joylyn Pettoff of Hinesville, GA, Mark Bujanowski (Doreene) of Hellertown, PA, Wendy Sampone (Nicholas) of Amsterdam, NY, Chester J. Bujanowski Jr. (Sherrie) of Fonda, NY and Julian Bujanowski (Nancy) of Fairfield, IA; two sisters, Victoria Nikander of Hinesville, GA and Frances Tollner of Cortland, NY; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013, at noon at the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the mortuary from 10:30 a.m. to noon prior to the service at the mortuary.
