NEWARK - The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League recently announced the rosters for the 2013 PGCBL All-Star Game.

"More than two dozen of the all-stars in our two previous games have been drafted by MLB or are now playing professionally," PGCBL President Jeff Kunion said in a news release. "The all-star game program gives our fans an opportunity to watch our top players go through their workouts for pro scouts. The game, the home run derby and the scout day activities makes this a special event for all in attendance."

The 2013 PGCBL All Star Game is scheduled to take place July 24 at Colburn Park in Newark.

The Amsterdam Mohawks will be well represented.

Amsterdam coach Keith Griffin will serve as the coach of the East Division all-star team, while Newark coach Mike Armstrong will lead the West Division all-stars.

Griffin, who was named the 2012 PGCBL Coach of the Year, will be joined by seven of his players.

Kyle Barrett (Kentucky), Jordan Ebert (Auburn), John Nogowski (Florida State), John Sansone (Florida State), Dylan Smith (Auburn), Matt Snyder (Fulton-Montgomery Community College) and Mike Urbanski (Binghamton) all will play for the East Division all-star team.

Barrett is hitting .348 with five RBIs and two doubles, while Ebert is hitting .321 with four home runs and 19 RBIs. Nogowski and Smith are each hitting .380 on the season. Smith had 19 RBIs and seven doubles, while Nogowski had seven doubles and 15 RBIs. Sansone is hitting .333 with seven doubles and 13 RBIs.

Amsterdam and Glens Falls tied for the most players selected for the East Division squad with seven.

Mohawk Valley had six of its players selected to the East Division squad. That group includes Dalton Herrington (ULM), Willie Shaw (William & Mary), Landon Thibodeaux (LSU Eunice), Mike Fischer (Columbia), Tyler Bray (ULM) and Keegan Long (St. Joseph's, Ind.).

Albany had five players - Anthony Marks (Coastal Carolina), Tyler Orris (Millersville), Zach Remillard (Coastal Carolina), Dylan Collett (Keene State), Eann Cox (Black Hawk) and Sean Spicer (Baylor) - named East Division all-stars.

Rounding out the East Division roster are Cooperstown's Ben Hall (Central Alabama C.C.), Nate Lotze (Kenyon) and Eann Cox (Black Hawk).

"We really look forward to showcasing the renovations we have made at Colburn Park. It has been a couple of years in the making but, we have redone almost everything ... the scoreboard, the concession stands, the seating, the press box. This year we redid the entire locker room. We are thankful the PGCBL Board of Directors awarded the game to us and we plan on a great show." Pilots owner Bob Ohmann said in the release.

The PGCBL is affiliated with Perfect Game USA, the largest independent scouting service in the country. This year, more than than 1,250 professional players have either worn the uniform of a PGCBL team or participated in a Perfect Game USA event.
