Immigration bill about getting re-elected

July 15, 2013
The Leader Herald

To all good legal and hardworking citizens: We now have Congress contemplating an immigration bill that will reward individuals who broke the law and entered our country illegally. Our elected officials on both sides of the aisle are tripping over themselves trying to cater to a group of people who they hope will vote for them in the future. The Republicans are petrified because the Democrats are winning the free handout contest.

Why do they say it must be done soon - because it is the right and humane thing to do?

I can answer that question very simply. All elected politicians want to be re-elected almost more than life itself. Don't be fooled by the appellation, whether it is Republican or Democrat. They are all members of an exclusive and financially rewarding club. They argue with each other for theater to the groundlings and then they all collectively spit on us and do whatever they have to do to assure re-election. They laugh at the crazy partisans who have taken this two party charade hook, line and sinker.

We now have both parties trying to curry favor with a group of people who do not even belong in the country. We are on the verge of a having an immigration law that says your legal citizenship is so much rubbish. The sweat, blood and basic honesty of your legal immigrant parents or grandparents are of no importance to them. Those of you who went through the immigration process legally paid in full - why didn't you just wait for the citizenship sale?

Our politicians are assigning little or no value to those who did the right thing. They openly mock us by their actions because staying in the club has more value to them.
