AMSTERDAM - City police are investigating a report six kittens were abandoned on Pioneer Street on Sunday.

Police said officers received a report of six kittens left on the side of the road on Pioneer Street near the entrance of Shuttleworth Park. The kittens were found huddled in the grass and emaciated, police said.

Officers contacted the Pumpkin Fund, a non-profit organization, to take care of the kittens. Officers placed the kittens in the fund's care, police said.

Anyone with information on who may have abandoned the kittens can call Officer Ariel Santiago at 842-1100, Ext. 224.
