Local Democrats endorse candidates

GLOVERSVILLE - The Fulton County Democratic Committee endorsed a number of party candidates at its meeting Wednesday at City Hall.

Endorsed were the following Democratic candidates who are unopposed in the September primaries:

Michael Julius, for mayor of the city of Johnstown.

Robin Wentworth, 1st Ward councilwoman in Gloversville, for councilman-at-large.

Marie Born, for re-election as Gloversville's 1st Ward supervisor.

Frank Lauria, for re-election as 2nd Ward supervisor for Gloversville.

John V. Zawadzki, for Town Council in Johnstown.

All the candidates were at the meeting and accepted their endorsements.

Committee Chairman Edmund Jasewicz invited Democratic candidates who do not face primaries and seek the party's endorsement to attend the next meeting Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
