Woman facing more charges

GLOVERSVILLE - A woman accused of filing fraudulent income tax returns in the names of several city residents faces more felony charges, authorities said.

Crystal Sweet, 38, of 462 Nine Mile Tree Road, was arraigned on eight additional felony charges, including third-degree grand larceny, first-degree identity theft and six counts of first degree offering a false instrument for filing.

She was being held in Fulton County Jail on the earlier charges. On July 3, she appeared in City Court to face the additional charges.

She was then returned to Fulton County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

She was previously charged in June with 20 felonies, including third-degree grand larceny, three counts of first-degree identity theft, third-degree attempted grand larceny, 11 counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and four counts of second-degree identity theft.
