Husain set to leave Mayfield position

July 9, 2013
The Leader Herald

MAYFIELD - Robert Husain is expected to resign from his position as principal at Mayfield High School, according to Board of Education President Ernest Clapper.

According to Clapper, Husain is pursuing a position elsewhere after 10 years in his position.

"No official action has been taken, but we do anticipate he is stepping down," Clapper said, estimating it will be made official in mid-July or August.

Clapper said he thinks Husain is seeking a position at Shaker High School in Latham. Clapper said he believed Husain was seeking a position as director of pupil services.

However, Clapper said there is a chance Husain could end up staying if his plans change.

"This is entirely Rob's decision," Clapper said.

Clapper said the school will miss Husain.

"It's definitely a loss for us, that is a certain," Clapper said.
