David Allen Fenwick Sr., 75, of Raleigh, N.C., passed away peacefully at his camp surrounded by his family on July 7, 2013. Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was the son of the late Florence and Albert Fenwick.
David served his country in the United States Air Force. He was stationed and performed duty around the world. He was a retiree from IBM, where he worked for 29 years. At a young age, David dearly enjoyed the Adirondack Mountains of N.Y. which have become and will remain a centerpiece for his family. His favorite place was his camp at the Great Sacandaga Lake where he enriched the lives of his family and closest friends for nearly all of his adult life.
He leaves behind many family members including his devoted wife of 46 years, Barbara Fenwick; his loving children, David (Sharon) Fenwick Jr., Caroline (David) Anderson, Christopher (Amanda) Fenwick, Margaret (Russ) Narins, Maureen (Billy) Hayes, and Timothy Fenwick; and his cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Sophie, Rachel, Ella, Madeline, Ben, Wyatt, Katherine, Luke, Will and Christopher Jr.
He is also survived by his sisters, Floraine Knauss, Joyce (Fred) Wright and Lynn (Bob) Detmer; his brother, Bill (Roberta) Fenwick; his brother-in-law, Larry Sista; and many nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Arlene Sista; and his brother-in-law, James Knauss.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 501 Bridge St., Northville, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home at 401 Bridge Street.
