Mrs. Eleanor M. Herrick, 92, of Gloversville, passed away July 4, 2013 at Ellis Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 10, 1921 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Teresa Olmstead Dutcher. Mrs. Herrick was educated in Gloversville schools and employed in the office of Grandoe Corp. retiring many years ago. Earlier in her life, Eleanor also worked for the former Twin City Cleaners.
A devoted member of the North Main St. United Methodist Church, Eleanor was quick to volunteer when ever needed. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and also with friends at the senior citizen center.
Perhaps some of her fondest memories where those spent at their summer camp at Morehouse Lake in the Adirondacks.
Eleanor is survived by a niece, Sandra Pavlus of Caroga Lake, two nephews; Joseph Oliver of New Jersey and Paul Oliver of Florida, several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Herrick, in 1988.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm Sunday July 7, 2013 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11 am - 1 pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
