AMSTERDAM-Police said officers executed a search warrant Wednesday, arresting a man on charges of drug possession and being a fugitive.
According to a news release from the city Police Department, David Rodriguez-Torres, 30, of 310 East Main St., second floor, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fugitive from justice and failure to appear on a bench warrant, after his arrest during a search of his home.
Police, along with New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant Wednesday evening on Rodriguez-Torres' home. The search warrant was given after a one month investigation into drug trafficking in the city. During the search, police said they found 240 glassine envelopes of heroin, valued at more than $4,000 on the street.
Rodriguez-Torres also is wanted by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office in Pennsylvania for violating the conditions of his probation for a robbery arrest.
Rodriguez-Torres was arraigned Thursday in City Court, and was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.
