Beulah L. Pinckney Cross, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home in Gloversville, following a long illness.
Born on February 20, 1921, in Mayfield, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora (King) Dutcher.
Beulah was a sewing machine operator for many years, employed by Sturgess Bros. in Gloversville; she retired in 1973. She enjoyed crafts and in her younger years loved camping.
She was first married to Alfred Pinckney from 1937 until his passing in 1977 and later she was married to Willis Cross from 1981 until his passing in 1992.
Besides her husbands and parents, Mrs. Cross was predeceased by her sons, Herbert, John, Alfred and Joseph Pinckney; grandsons, Alfred Pinckney Jr. and Anthony Pinckney; brothers, John, George, Delbert and Richard Dutcher; sisters, Margaret Walton, Harriet Edwards and Cora "Luella" Sweet.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Brenda (Donald Brockhum) of Ephratah, Rebecca (Bryan) VanNostrand of Gloversville, Billie (Calvin Snell) Pinckney of Tribes Hill, Jennifer (Cliff Beck) Morgan of Fort Plain, Crystal Williams of Florida, Melissa Pinckney of New Jersey and Derek (Kandy) DeLong of Perth; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
