The Leader Herald

GALWAY?- The Galway Public Library Board of Trustees recently met and agreed to sign an extension to an option to buy a 14.4 acre parcel of land located across from the St. Mary's Church on East Street in the village.

The extension will give the trustees more time to understand the state Division of Library Development Construction Grant requirements. The trustees intend to apply for the grant to assist with the building process, a news release said.

The land purchase price will be $103,500, the release said. A majority of the money which will be funded by the Dockstader Charitable Trust, the release said, a local foundation.

The village zoning law has been changed to permit the land to be used for a library, the release said.
