Medora Margaret Venneman

June 28, 2013
The Leader Herald

Medora Margaret "Toni" Venneman, 86, of Hollywood, Md., died June 26, 2013, at her residence.

Born December 23, 1926, in Gloversville, New York, she was the daughter of the late David Chauncey White and Elsie Beatrice (Van Nostrand) White.

Today the world is a little less bright. Everything moves so fast, changes so fast but "MeMe" was a constant. A constant comfort, a constant advisor, a constant storyteller and a constant warmth.

Mrs. Venneman

Medora dedicated her life to teaching others, whether it be in the classroom, the kitchen, or from her living room chair. She loved cooking, crossword puzzles, birds and gardening. She had the kindest, gentlest soul anyone ever had the extreme gift of knowing. She was completely content to sit on her porch watching the birds. She understood how to take advantage of the simple treasures in life and was always grateful for what God gave her.

She was a treasure herself and just like the flowers surrounding her house, they could not last forever, but the brief moment they are here, they make us smile. Medora will be forever missed but never forgotten in the hearts of her family and friends. Every time a bird sings a sweet song, she will be remembered with all the love in the world.

Medora is survived by her children, Philip F. Venneman (Lorrie) of Gloversville, N.Y., Peter A. Venneman of Manassas, Va., and Laura J. Holton of Hollywood, Md.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; very special neighbors, Bill and Betty Oliver; and Geri Venneman of Johnstown, N.Y. whom the family thanks for all the years of her thoughtfulness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Elsie Anne Venneman; and siblings, Ernie, Harold and Donovan White.

Family will receive friends for Medora's Life Celebration Gathering on Sunday, June 30, 2013, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
