Rocky Leland Morehouse, 20, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013, his 20th birthday, surrounded by his family at his home after a brave and long fight with illness.
Born on June 25, 1993, in Albany, he was the son of John Leland and April Marie (Berry) Morehouse.
Rocky enjoyed camping and swimming at Caroga Lake, where he could often be found on his Blue "Bike" Tricycle making the rounds of the campsite. He had a great appreciation for Barney the Purple Dinosaur. Rocky was loved by all that new him and could easily make friends with everyone he met.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Leland Morehouse and Betty Decker.
Besides his parents, Rocky is survived by his brothers, Allen J. (Sarah) Butler of Gloversville and Donald E. (Brandy Boles) of Amsterdam; grandparents, Harold and Gail Berry of Gloversville; nieces, Norah Morehouse of Amsterdam and Dakota Butler of Gloversville; nephews, Braydon Ross and Tobias Butler, both of Gloversville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Greg Meyers officiating. Burial will follow the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
