FONDA - On Monday, an 18-year old Canajoharie man pleaded guilty to second-degree rape in Montgomery County Court.
Cody H. Burton, of 41 W. Main St., pleaded in connection to a Feb. 23 incident that involved a victim younger than 15 years old in Canajoharie, according to officials in Montgomery County District Attorney James "Jed" Conboy's office.
Burton's sentencing will be in August. He is expected to receive six months in jail and five years of probation, officials said.
In other County Court action:
Robin L. Small, 29, of 7 Clyde St., pleaded guilty to felony DWI. This was in connection with a Jan. 12 incident that happened in the town on Minden.
Small is expected to be sentenced Dec. 17 to five days in county jail, five years of probation requiring his participation in the county's Adult Drug Court treatment program, and he will be ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, officials said.
Louis M. Gonzalez, 27, of 50 Gorski St., Amsterdam, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. This was in connection to an April 18 incident which involved cocaine, officials said.
Sentencing was adjourned until Aug. 5. He will receive four years in state prison, three years of supervision after his release and he will pay $450 in restitution, officials said. Gonzalez also will be forced to give up $449 that was seized at the time of his arrest.
Michael McVeigh, 28, of 37 Phillips St., Amsterdam, pleaded guilty to felony DWI. He pleaded in connection to a Feb. 25, 2012, incident, according to officials.
McVeigh will be sentenced in December to five years of probation, officials said. He also will be required to participate in the county's adult drug treatment program and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.
