FFCS players earn Colonial Council honors

Several Fonda-Fultonville players were among those honored on the recently announced Colonial Council baseball all-star team.

Sophomore third baseman Pat Hart and junior pitcher Zak Shaw were both named first-team all-stars, while senior first baseman Kevin Twardzik, junior shortstop Baylee Hall and senior pitcher Dan Valachovic were named to the second team. Anthony Sinicropi and Brandon Baker earned honorable-mention status for the Braves.

Schalmont senior Jimmy Hamilton and Voorheesville senior Nico Church shared Most Valuable Player honors.

Lansingburgh had Bob Gould, Adam Burke, Connor McDonough, Brandon Begin and Brandon Bombard named to the first team.

Also named to the first team were Albany Academy's Sean Dempsey, Ben Brown and Ian Bennett, Schalmont's Andrew Cote and Chris Amorosi, Cohoes' Kevin Napier, Voorheesville's Mike Young, Watervliet's Jon Parker, Ichabod Crane's Dennis Heeder and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's Kyle Pentak.

Ichabod Crane had three players named second-team all-stars as Pierce Reilly, Nate Issler and Nick Ferrari were honored. Schalmont had Greg Musk and John Pascarella named second-team all-stars, while Mechanicville's Ryan Losavio and Nate Popiel were also honored.

Also named to the second team were Cobleskill-Richmondville's Seth Billington, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's Conner Zeoli and Tyler Thompson, Cohoes' Tyler Becker, Sean Connor and Max Carey, Watervliet's Jim Griffin, Albany Academy's Jake Mayette, Lansingburgh's Craig Craven and Tyler McDonough, and Voorheesville's Nick Chiseri.

Also earning honorable-mention status were Trey Bremmer (Cohoes), Tim Hughes (Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk), Noah Harpe (Mechanicville), Kevin Myers (Fonda-Fultonville), Trevor Francesconi (Albany Academy), Noah Cipperly (Lansingburgh), Zach Perras (Mechanicville), Adam Dunn (Mechanicville), Tyler Smith (Schalmont), Joe Wignot (Schalmont), Kristian Singh (Voorheesville) and David Himme (Cobleskill-Richmondville).
