Mrs. Genevieve A. Lizor, age 90, of Gloversville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
She was born July 22, 1922, in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Wallace and Martha Crouch Burr and was a graduate of Gloversville High School.
Genevieve enjoyed knitting, crafting and traveling. She was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She was married on June 29, 1946, to Francis E. Lizor Sr., who died May 10, 2009.
Survivors include: three children, Francis E. Lizor Jr. (Paula) of Gloversville, Jane M. Cornell of Gloversville and James W. Lizor (Anne) of Queensbury; four grandchildren, David Lizor, Renee Tayal, Aaron Lizor and Siobhan Cornell; two great-grandchildren, Emily Tayal and Gavin Lizor; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Wallace Burr, whose wife, Madeline Burr, survives.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
