Little Huskies schedule sign-ups

GLOVERSVILLE - Sign-ups for the Little Huskies youth football program will take place June Friday and Saturday as well as July 26-27, at the Little Huskies Clubhouse, which is located at Littauer Field on Union Street.

Sign-ups also will take place Aug. 3 as the Little Huskies will have a registration booth at RailFest.

Friday sign-ups will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday sign-ups from 10 a.m. to noon.

Three divisions are offered along with a cheerleading program.

The senior division is open to children ages 10 to 12 in fifth and sixth grade. Participants cannot turn 13 on or before Sept. 1.

The junior division is open to children ages 8 and 9 in third and fourth grade. Participants cannot turn 10 on or before Sept. 1.

The flag division is open to children ages 5 to 7 in Kindergarten, first, and second grade. Participants cannot turn 8 on or before Sept. 1.

The cheerleading program is open to children ages 5 to 12. Participants cannot turn 13 on or before Sept. 1.

Players and cheerleaders who are in seventh grade or above are not eligible regardless of age. Players are not permitted to play up or move down in any particular division.

The registration fee will be $45 for the senior and junior divisions with a cost of $30 for additional siblings.

For the flag division, the fee will be $20, and the fee for cheerleading will be $30.

Players should also bring a copy of their birth certificate for age verification. Anyone who has equipment from last year should bring it with them at sign-ups.

The first practice is scheduled for Aug. 5 at the Gloversville Little League Field on Harrison Street. No sign-ups will be accepted after Aug. 5.
