Walter F. Plantt Jr., 70, a resident of Mayfield passed away on Friday June 7, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Fort Edward, N.Y. He was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on February 23, 1943. The son of the late Walter F. Plantt Sr. and Louise Weber. He was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Schenectady class of 1961.
He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1961 to 1964. He was employed as a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady until his retirement.
He loved fishing, watching movies and competed in sharp shooting competitions for many years.
Survivors include: his wife Tamara Bradt Plantt of Mayfield; one daughter; Dawn and Rick Dinehart of Fort Edward; two step-daughters, Ginger Cato and her husband, Tracy McMahon of Johnstown and Vanessa Carey of Mayfield; four grandchildren, Michael and Nik Gatzendorfer, Emory Cato and Eric McMahon.
Friends may call on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge Street, Northville, where a funeral service will be held at noon. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
