Roger E. Glode, age 80, of Gloversville, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Glode was born on August 31, 1932, in Red Bank, New Jersey, a son of the late Arthur Glode and Geraldine Brown Glode.
Roger honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the 1950s. Mr. Glode attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He worked for over 29 years as a technician for Citizens Telephone until his retirement. Roger loved spending time with his family, playing golf and carpentry work.
Survivors include his wife Maureen (Booth) Glode who he married on July 14, 1962, one son John Glode and his wife Lynn of Fonda, one daughter Susan Kippel and her husband Frank of Queensbury, one sister Margaret Glode of North Creek; nine grandchildren Collin Kippel, Brendan Kippel, Ashley Glode, Aiden Glode, Jessica Glode, Sabrina Glode, Rob Walker, Lisa Hakes and Derek Hakes, sister-in-law Laurel Glode of Wevertown and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Glode was predeceased by one son Jim Glode who passed on April 5, 2003 and one brother Donald Glode.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 10 at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, with Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery with military honors.
