GLOVERSVILLE - On May 20, the Gloversville 50-55 Plus Club had its memorial service for all the members who passed away from May 2012 to May 2013. The service was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the accompaniment of Leo Visconti on the piano playing "America."
Angie Ruggeri, chaplain, conducted the candlelight service while the following members participated in the delivering of a rose to honor each member who died during the year: Ginny McCoy for Rudy Bozek; Trudy Yost for Edith Frederick; John Nicosia for Bernie Henderson; Richard Rummler for Raymond Gifford; Angie Crocetta for Dorotha Dye; BettyLou Myers for Helen Lassell; Elaine Maxwell for honorary member, Robert F. Morey Sr.; Antimo Gazzillo for Michael Miller; Ellen Dorman for Frances Flanders; and Carol Coon for Betty Fancher. Maxwell assisted with the printing program.
The following are the upcoming club events, which meets at the Senior Citizen Services Center of Gloversville & Fulton County, 53 Church St.
On Monday, the members with June birthdays will be celebrated with a cake. The meeting will be a 1 p.m.
On June 10, at 1 p.m. is the regular meeting followed by refreshments.
On June 17, a Father's Day celebration with a pizza luncheon at 1 p.m. followed by a meeting.
On June 24, at 1 p.m. the regular meeting.
On July 6 and 7, the club will have a rummage sale at the center as a fundraiser for the senior center.
