Breastfeeding class set for Wednesday

May 30, 2013
The Leader Herald

JOHNSTOWN - HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, recently announced a class about "Breastfeeding Your Baby" will be held Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at its wellness center, 213 Harrison St. Ext.

Healthcare experts agree that breastfeeding is still the best way to feed your baby during the first year, a news release said. Participants will learn about the advantages, how to breastfeed, what to expect, allergies and colic, foods and medications, weight loss, weaning and the effect on the mother's social life, the release said.

Taught by a certified lactation counselor of The Birthing Center At Littauer, this one-hour class will be free and open to expectant parents who are considering this method of feeding their baby.

To attend, call HealthLink Littauer at 736-1120.
