On behalf of the Johnstown Public Library Board of Trustees, thank you to all who helped ensure the huge success of the first-ever Johnstown Classic: Miniature Golf at the Library. The $8,700 profit raised will be used for library programming and services.
An enormous amount of thanks goes to our sponsors, who were willing and eager to support this brand-new event: an anonymous generous donor, the grandchildren of Rick and Mary Frasier, The Tire Center, Ferguson & Foss Professional Land Surveyors, Thomas' Hallmark, Main Motorcar, The Floor Coverings of the Galleria, Benjamin Moore Paints, Kinowski Agency, Disanto-Rose Dental, Union Hall Inn, Palmer Pharmacy, Patriot Federal Bank, Jack Callery Real Estate, The Friends of the Library, AND: Architecture and Design, Swany, American Target Design, Frank and Sons Body Works and Frontier Communications.
This event was successful because it was a team effort. Many, many thanks to our tireless and enthusiastic volunteers: Library Mini-Golf: Russ Bolton, John and Candee Gulick; basket chairperson, Valerie Rogers; the fundraising committee: Deb Callery, Betsy Camarra and Robin Carville; the roster of basement entertainers: Gary Van Slyke, Mary Jo Lomanto, Larissa Groesbeck, Michaela Goodell, Lawrence Clark, Brian Bochenek, Kelsey Norton and FFCS Key Club face painters; volunteer coordinator, Betty Cleary; McDonald's, Walmart and Hannaford for refreshments; Amy and John David Praught for operating the hot dog machine, Betsy Camarra for making the popcorn and cotton candy, and all of those who provided baked goods; the Friday night set-up and Saturday afternoon takedown crews; Steve Camarra, in costume as "The Wimpy Kid"; Glove Performing Arts Center and Marc Norton for the coat racks and sound system; the Johnstown High School athletic office for money boxes and markers; the entire library staff for its support of this new event and willingness to work tirelessly for its success, and the many creative and generous basket donors.
Thank you to everyone who golfed with us, purchased basket raffle tickets and showed their support. We look forward to seeing you on the links next year.
