Erin S. Westhall of Caroga Lake, N.Y., was called home to our Lord on May 23, 2013. Erin, son of Christian and Rebecca Westhall, was welcomed to this world on March 18, 1984, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
After Erin graduated high school studying architectural drafting, he served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Fitzgerald DDG-62 as a gunners mate second class. After four years and an honorable discharge, he pursued his second love, the open road, where he took on a career as a flat-bed truck driver. In the four years he drove he was able to see the lower 48 states and put on over 400,000 miles. When he was not behind the wheel, Erin enjoyed snowmobiling in the Adirondacks with his brother, Jon and close friends, Pat and Kenny. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and slalom skiing at his cabin on Caroga Lake.
Erin is survived by his parents; sisters, Alyssa (Matthew) Mittiga, Mandy (Christopher) Aiken; brother, Jonathan (Kimberly) Westhall; and ten nieces and nephews that he enjoyed playing with; aunts and uncles, George (Pat) Westhall, Steven (Robin) Smith; cousins, Maureen Westhall and Galina Smith. Erin also impacted countless other lives in different ways. Erin was there to help anyone in need, anywhere, anytime, with a huge smile and a giving heart.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Caroga Chapel, corner of Chapel Road and State Highway 10, Caroga Lake.
