GLOVERSVILLE - The Gloversville Enlarged School District Board of Education interviewed the three final candidates for principal positions for Kingsborough Elementary School, Park Terrace Elementary School and Gloversville Middle School on May 14.
The finalists are Brian DiPasquale for Park Terrace, Laura Buzas for Kingsborough, and Mark Batty for GMS.
Brian DiPasquale previously served as a fourth-grade teacher at Boulevard Elementary School from 2003-2012, He is currently the assistant principal at Watervliet Elementary School.
"Brian's strengths in instructional technology, innovative programs, and his strong background in curriculum and instruction in literacy will be very positive for all of us," Superintendent Michael Vanyo said in a news release.
Laura Buzas has more than 18 years of teaching experience in North Carolina and Schenectady. Buzas has been serving as an academic coach in teaching and learning, literacy, and multicultural curriculum coordinator in Schenectady schools.
"We will be looking to Laura to use her strengths in curriculum and instruction to help guide Kingsborough in raising their scores in those areas," Vanyo said in the release.
Mark Batty has been serving as assistant principal for Gloversville High School since 2007.
"Mark is an excellent team player and has a strong rapport with students, parents and the faculty. His passion for improving attendance and graduation rates, and for finding alternative programs for students that don't fit into a regular program, will serve Gloversville well as we move the district forward," Vanyo said in the release.
The Board of Education may make the appointments official today during its meeting.
