ST. JOHNSVILLE - The opening day of Fort Klock, on Route 5, will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Col. James Morrison with the members of the Tryon County Militia plan to demonstrate the vital role Colonial militias played protecting valley residents during the Revolutionary War, a news release said.
There will be many activities taking place for attendees to see, including candle dripping, yarn dyeing and tool making. Items being displayed will include powder horns, lead and pewter objects, and Indian quillwork and beadwork.
The fort also will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays.
