Mildred E. "Milly" Parenti, 94, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at her residence. Milly was born in Johnstown, New York, on September 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Lorenc and Helen (Smrtic) Valachovic. Milly is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Nathaniel J. "Chris" Parenti; a daughter, Christine M. Parenti of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sons, Joseph D. Parenti of Georgetown, Ga., and William S. Parenti of St. Cloud. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Stephanie Tippins of Vero Beach, Fla., Shawn Hoyt (Cheryl) of Vero Beach, Fla., Jeremy J. Parenti (Lauri) of St. Cloud, Fla., Nicole Delgado (Luis) of Ocoee, Fla., Christina Alexander (Troy) of Windermire, Fla. and Christopher Parenti of Orlando, Fla.; 11 great-grandchildren, Makenzi, Makaela, and Makintyre Tippins, Abigail and Jonathan Hoyt, Christian and Zachary Parenti, Dayla and Emma Delgado, Tyler and Connor Alexander and Dominic Parenti. Mildred is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Eugene Parenti; and her brothers, Andrew, Lawrence, Anthony, Steven, Edward, John, William; and one sister, Mary.
Milly Parenti worked in the leather industry as a glove worker. Upon moving from Johnstown, she and her husband bought and managed the Town Motel in St. Cloud, Fla. She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed camping, gardening, and square dancing. Milly was an excellent cook. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and always put family first. She was our Matriarch and will be sorely missed and remember in our hearts, always.
Interment and a graveside service will be held at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown, New York, on Friday, May 24, at noon.
