UTICA -Amsterdam resident and Broadalbin-Perth graduate Megan Gerow, a member of the Mohawk Valley Community College softball team,
MVCC reached the regional finals before being denied an opportunity to compete for the National Championship in Minnesota by the second seed, Monroe Community College.
Gerow pitched the sixth-seeded Hawks to a 6-5 win in game one of the sub-regionals as they upset Broome Community College, which was seeded third in the tournament.
On the season, Gerow led the Hawks in wins (9), complete games (13), and strikeouts with 57. Her season was highlighted by a no-hitter against Fulton Montgomery Community College. In her final year at the junior college level, she allowed three or less earned runs on eight occasions, including each of her regional appearances.
