May 13, 2013
The Leader Herald
The Johnstown girls lacrosse team hosted a Coaches vs. Cancer game featuring a Go Gray for May theme May 7 against Clinton at Knox Field in?Johnstown. The team sold awareness cards at school for $1, and the day of the game.?They also made a HOPE wall in school. They also collected donations at the door, and hosted a concession stand, with all the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. “We raised more than $500. We’re so excited by that,” Benton said. “We appreciate all the support we had for the event.” Benton (above), wearing a Go Gray for Cancer gray T-shirt at the game, poses with cookies made for her in the shape of ribbons for the event. Benton lost her mother to brain cancer in October after she was diagnosed with the disease in August. (The Leader-Herald/Bill Trojan)
