GLOVERSVILLE -Nathan Littauer Hospital has activities planned for its celebration of National Hospital Week.
The theme for National Hospital Week - which started Sunday and runs through Saturday - is "A Guiding Light for Changing Times."
"National Hospital Week, first and foremost, is a celebration of people," Laurence E. Kelly, Littauer's president and CEO, said in a news release. "We're extremely proud of each member of our staff, and we recognize the important role they play in extending a sense of trust to our patients and our communities."
Nathan Littauer also is celebrating National Nursing Home Week this week. A full slate of community activities is planned, the release said.
At a picnic Thursday, employees will be recognized for their dedication to the "Littauer Family of Health Services," the release said.
Activities scheduled this week include:
Today -?National Hospital Week kick-off, walking track challenge and volleyball begin; Reiki, 2 to 4 p.m.; blood pressure testing, 11a.m. to 1p.m. in the lobby.
Tuesday - Make-your-own ice cream sundaes; Music in the cafe.
Wednesday - Employee gifts; massages, 9 a.m. to 1p.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Reiki, 1 to 2 p.m.
Thursday - Barbecue for hospital employees starting at 3 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Massages, 6 to 8 a.m.
Friday - Gifts to be handed out by managers; Zumba (in apple orchard parking lot) 4 p.m.
