Very soon the Walmart supercenter will open in our high-unemployment area, possibly creating more low-paying, no-benefits jobs. It will be a massive structure in which huge quantities of items and foods, mostly manufactured in other countries, will be sold.
Such stores in the U.S. provide the outlets, the means and the customers to help foreign countries prosper and promote their growth.
What would be really super is a U.S. mega store selling only goods made in our country. That may not be possible, for it seems so few items are made in America, but it's a great dream to consider.
Meanwhile, all we consumers can do is try to locate and purchase as many items as we can produced by our fellow Americans.
