MAYFIELD?- The town and village - along with the Fulton County Department of Solid Waste - will co-sponsor a drop-off cleanup program on Thursday, Friday and May 18 at the Town Barn.
The hours for the program will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The program hours will be 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18.
Disposal containers will be available for town and village residents only, a news release said, as the program is not open to commercial haulers, businesses or institutions.
Residents may bring old furniture, appliances, garage and attic cleanup projects, and do-it-yourself home improvement project materials such as siding, shingles and lumber. Proof of residency will be required, the release said.
This will be the only cleanup program offered in the town this year, the release said.
Electronics will be accepted for recycling. Old appliances must be placed separately from garbage; old stoves, refrigerators, freezers and bulky metals are recycled. Residents should remove the doors from refrigerators and freezers - and remove all food products - before bringing them to the program.
Items not accepted at the program include: vehicle batteries, tires, paint, motor oil, curbside recyclables or regular trash.
