Amelia F. Schramm, 90, of Colonie, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at St. Peter's Hospital. Mrs. Schramm was born in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of the late Antonio and Angela Maria Vecchio. She has resided in Colonie since 1965 and prior to living in Westmere and Gloversville. Mrs. Schramm was a communicant of the Church of St. Clare in Colonie. She was dedicated to her family, as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Schramm is survived by her son, Thomas Johnson of Colonie; stepdaughter, Patricia Cassidy of Tennessee; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Angelina Parillo, Theresa Mastropaolo and Antoinette Sirois; two brothers, Rev. Edgio Vecchio and Santo Vecchio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Schramm was predeceased by her husband, William Schramm.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the funeral home.
