Man accused of public lewdness

May 3, 2013
The Leader Herald

FLORIDA - A town man was charged by Montgomery County sheriff's deputies Tuesday on two counts of public lewdness for what authorities said were incidents in which he pleasured himself while watching county Department of Public Works crews hose down a bridge.

Deputies said Jeffery C. Smith, 49, of 138 Dunlap Road, was charged at 1:40 p.m. near his home.

Deputies said 20 minutes earlier, he walked out of his house and stood by a building. DPW workers noticed the man peeked around a corner at them, and when they investigated, found him masturbating.

Deputies said workers yelled at him and left the area to refill a water tank before hosing down the bridge again.

Deputies said Smith came back, and workers with camera phones recorded the man again pleasuring himself as he watched DPW workers. The workers contacted authorities.

Smith will appear at 6 p.m. May 16 in Town Court.
