FMCC baseball swept by Columbia-Greene

HUDSON - The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team lost both ends of its doubleheader at Columbia-Greene Community College on Thursday.

FMCC lost the first game 9-0 and the second game 7-1.

In the first game, Cody Broast was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Columbia-Greene, while Kevin Gorman was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Gorman also earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits, striking out four and walking one.

Peter Russo had two hits and three RBIs for the Twins, while Tanner Cornachinni and Conner Cardinale each had two hits.

Mike Jacobsen added a double for Columbia-Greene.

Juan Melendez had a double for FMCC, while Zeb Gaston and Greg Ruddy each had singles.

In the second game, Jacobsen pitched a three-hitter to lead the Twins to the win.

Jacobsen struck out five and walked three to earn the complete-game win.

Gorman was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Columbia-Greene, while Peter Russo had a single and two RBIs. Kevin Peckovitch had a single and an RBI for the Twins, while Andriel Santana singled and scored two runs.

Gaston, Ruddy and Bryant Solano each had singles for FMCC.

The Raiders will host Mohawk Valley Community College in a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m.
