Assemblyman Marc W. Butler, R-Newport, recently participated in Adirondack Day at the Capitol to raise awareness about the Adirondack Park and region.
Butler's district - which includes Fulton and Hamilton counties - covers a large portion of the Adirondack Park.
"For me, Adirondack Day is a wonderful time to share with my legislative colleagues how important the health of the Adirondack region is to my district and our communities," Butler said in a news release.
The park attracts roughly 7 to 10 million visitors annually, the release said. Adirondack tourism is a $1.2 billion industry and supports an estimated 200,000 jobs.
Hamilton County is especially dependent on tourism, the release said, which accounts for nearly 50 percent of labor income.
