Mrs. Lynda A. Holt Yost, age 63, of Mayfield, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, following a brief illness.
She was born August 28, 1949, in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Melvin Sr. and Frances Canfield Holt. A 1969 graduate of Broadalbin High School, Lynda worked for over 20 years at the former St. Thomas Glove Company. She loved to work as a waitress at the former Manor House Restaurant for seven years until it closed.
Lynda was married on August 10, 1996, to her loving husband, Merle J. Yost Jr., who survives.
She is also survived by seven children, Angela Visconti (Ruzzo), Chad Person, Brenda Ostrander, Shawn Morrison (Erica), Jason Morrison, Joshua Morrison and Jarrett Yost (Michele); 23 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frederick Holt (Jill) and Thomas Holt Sr. (Debbie); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; also by her brothers, Melvin Holt Jr. and Ron Holt.
Lynda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and bowling. She loved people and could talk to anyone. Her pets were also very special to her; she is survived by Daisy Mae and predeceased by Roscoe.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.
