H.S. Softball Roundup: Lady Patriots edge Johnstown in nine innings

BROADALBIN - Lauren Adamchick drew a walk and later scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting Broadalbin-Perth to a 9-8 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council softball game Wednesday.

Johnstown trailed 3-1 after five innings before scoring seven runs in the top of the sixth to take an 8-3 lead.

The Lady Patriots scored three times in the bottom of the sixth and twice in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.

Ciarra Dickson went 3-for-5 and had two RBIs for B-P (5-5 overall, 5-4 Foothills), while Megan Morreale added three hits.

SCOTIA - Jen Mayette pitched a five-hitter, leading Scotia-Glenville to a win over Gloversville.

Mayette struck out 11 and walked one on her way to the complete-game victory for the Tartans (9-4 overall, 5-3 Foothills).

Mayette also plated the game-winning run with a single in the fifth inning, while Zoe Purvis and Hannah Angelo each added a triple.

Ashley Ostrander had a solo home run in the fourth inning for Gloversville (2-10 overall, 0-9 Foothills), while Alexis Capasso was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Megan Patterson added a double for the Huskies.

QUEENSBURY - Queensbury scored five times in the third inning on its way to a win over South Glens Falls.

Cat Hand had a solo home run in the third for the Spartans.

Emily Sharpe had a triple for South Glens Falls (12-3 overall, 8-1 Foothills).

QUEENSBURY - Hudson Falls scored five runs in the top of the seventh to post a Foothills Council win over Glens Falls at Morse Athletic Complex.

Holly Rock had a double and two RBIs for Hudson Falls (5-3 overall, 5-3 Foothills), while Nicole Sheloski had two hits and three RBIs. Tanner Barton had two hits and two RBIs for the Tigers.

Cassie Lefebvre had a triple for Glens Falls (3-9 overall, 2-6 Foothills), while Tori Agnew had two hits.

FORT PLAIN - Jamie Fredericks tossed a complete game two-hitter, leading Fort Plain to a win over Middleburgh.

The Lady Hilltoppers scored six runs in the fourth inning on their way to the win.

Fredericks, Abby Boyer, Sierra Logan, Jenna Barhydt, Haley Kilmartin and Allehah Van Loan all had singles for Fort Plain (11-4 overall, 7-3 WAC), while Boyer stole home in the fifth inning.

Sierra Lucas and Susie Risch each had singles for Middleburgh.

DUANESBURG - Duanesburg clinched its 12th straight Western Athletic Conference South Division championship with a win over Canajoharie.

Steph Rice had a double, single and three RBIs for Duanesburg (11-2 overall, 10-0 WAC), while Bre Hanson and Devon Hennel each had two singles. Lia Schettine added a double for the Eagles.

Bri Slater and Shy Logan each had doubles for Canajoharie (3-7 overall, 3-6 WAC).

BERNE - Anna Husain had two singles, leading Mayfield to a win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Husain also earned the win in the circle, allowing six hits, striking out 10 and walking seven.

Nicole Little had three singles and an RBI for Mayfield (10-1 overall, 9-1 WAC), while Jen Little and Maria Messina each had two singles.

Lisa Hime had a triple and an RBI for the Lady Panthers, while Caitlin Tomlinson finished with a single and an RBI. Mackenzie Biggers had two RBIs for Mayfield, Lyndsey Barber had one RBI and Heather Geier added a single.

Saratoga Catholic 11, Schoharie 3

SCHOHARIE - Myah Ondreyko had three hits, scored three runs and an RBI, powering Saratoga Central Catholic to a win over Schoharie.

Jocelyn Maher and Liza Orsini combined for four hits for Saratoga Catholic (7-3 WAC).

Schoharie slipped to 5-4 in WAC play with the loss.

Ariann Ceroalo and Jesse Uline combined on a two-hitter for the Golden Eagles, who scored nine runs in the fifth inning on their way to the win.

Rylie Smith and Samantha LaCoppola had singles for St. Johnsville (2-8 overall, 2-6 WAC).

FONDA - Amanda Gatt struck out 20, walked one and allowed five hits as Voorheesville edged Fonda-Fultonville in nine innings.

Gatt also doubled in the top of the ninth, plating the game-winning run for the Blackbirds. Bryn Davies added two singles for Voorheesville.

Emily Frollo had a two-run home run in the fourth inning for FFCS (3-5 overall, 3-5 Colonial), while Cassandra Egelston and Sam Hart each had two doubles.

Emma Disogra hit a three-run home run for the Lions, while Erika Mitchell added four hits. Emily Morris and Thea Westcott each had three hits for Elizabethtown-Lewis.

Bobbi Jo Page had four hits, including a double, for Wells (0-7 overall, 0-7 MVAC), while Brittany Woodward had a single, double and a triple. Sam Zemken also had a triple for the Lady Indians.
