H.S. Softball Roundup: Lady Panthers defeat Schoharie, 4-2

SCHOHARIE - Anna Husain pitched a five-hitter to lead Mayfield to a 4-2 win over Schoharie in a Western Athletic Conference softball game Monday.

Husain struck out seven and walked two on her way to the complete-game victory.

Mackenzie Biggers had a double, single and an RBI for Mayfield (9-1 overall, 8-1 WAC), while Caitlin Tomlinson had two singles. Lyndsey Barber had a double and an RBI for the Lady Panthers, while Lisa Hime had a single and an RBI.

Sydney Stanley had a home run and an RBI for Schoharie (4-3 WAC), while Brianna Borst and Gabby Danthier each had a double.

Leann Knapp had three hits for St. Johnsville (1-7 overall, 1-7 WAC), while Mackenzie Ferguson, Marissa Nellis, Megan Bradt and Rylie Smith all finished with two hits.

BROADALBIN - Zoe Purvis had a bases-loaded, two-out single to lift Scotia-Glenville past Broadalbin-Perth.

Jen Mayette was 3-for-5 with a double for the Tartans, while Laila Day was 2-for-4 with a triple.

Kristina Fletcher had a double and an RBI for Broadalbin-Perth (4-5 overall, 4-5 Foothills).

GLOVERSVILLE - Wet weather forced the postponement of Gloversville's home game with Johnstown on Monday. The game was rescheduled for today at 4:30 p.m. at Gloversville Middle School.

WELLS - Johnsburg scored 10 times in the top of the eighth inning to post a win over Wells.

MaKayla Denno had two triples and a single for Johnsburg, while Valeri Gereau had a triple and scored three runs. Courtney Allard added a double, two singles and scored four runs for the Lady Jaguars.

Bobbi-Jo Page was 4-for-5 with two solo home runs, two singles, five runs scored and five RBIs for Wells (0-6 overall, 0-6 MVAC), while Brittany Woodward had a solo home run, two singles and three runs scored. Maigen Wilson had a triple and a single for the Lady Indians, while Chelsea Simons finished with a double, single and four runs scored. Breanna Mayer added a single and two RBIs for Wells.
