William J. Wojcicki

Mr. William J. Wojcicki, Sr., 94, of Young Avenue, Amsterdam, New York, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, with his loving family at his side.

He was born August 14, 1918, in Amsterdam, New York, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Zembruski Wojcicki. He was educated locally, graduating from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was a lifelong resident.

During World War II, Mr. Wojcicki served in the Army in the Military Police as a Sergeant.

He was the Owner and Partner in the former Partyka's Market on Crane Street for many years before retiring.

Bill was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.

On October 21, 1945, he was united in marriage to Genevieve (Jean) Partyka. She died August 21, 2006.He was also predeceased by his brothers Edward and John.

He is survived by his sons William J. Wojcicki, Jr. (Sharon), Amsterdam, New York, Paul Wojcicki, Amsterdam, New York and Robert Wojcicki (Patty), Broadalbin, New York; grandchildren Matthew (Tiffany) Wojcicki, Ashley Wojcicki (Chuck Willson) and William (Billy) Wojcicki; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A prayer service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home 200 Church St., Amsterdam, New York followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, Celebrant. Interment with military honors will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 46 Cornell St., Amsterdam, New York 12010 or to the American Cancer Society.
