NORTHVILLE - The parent of a child hurt in a schoolyard incident last year has filed a lawsuit in state Supreme Court against the Northville Central School District Board of Education.

Sandra McDermott, of 151 S. Main St., - parent of first grade student Jessica McDermott - is represented by Gloversville attorney George Abdella. A lawsuit was filed Monday against not only the board, but Dylan Moore, of 235 County Highway 113. Court papers filed in Johnstown seeks unspecified damages.

The civil lawsuit states the board on May 11 "failed to supervise" a situation in which Moore made contact with Jessica McDermott while the students were playing "ultimate frisbee."

The incident occurred while the girl was walking with classmates from the school building on South Third Street to the playground area for regularly scheduled recess.

The lawsuit stated the girl suffered permanent injuries.
