GLOVERSVILLE - City police said a man who previously was charged with murder - that charge was later dropped - was arrested Saturday after he allegedly smashed a bicycle into a vehicle parked outside of a bar.
Derek A. Kenney, 43, of 157 Handy Road, Mayfield, was arrested by city police and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Police said he was seen smashing a bicycle into a vehicle parked outside of Andrew's Bar, 160 W. Fulton St.
He was held for arraignment in City Court in front of Judge Traci DiMezza. He was subsequently sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail and will appear in court at a later date.
Kenney was previously charged with second-degree murder in July 2010 after police said he fatally stabbed Brian Morrison on Bleecker Street. The charges were later dropped after Kenney's attorneys argued grand-jury proceedings against Kenney were tainted because witnesses lied.
No one else has been charged in Morrison's death.
In July, Kenney sued the Gloversville Police Department and several of its officers in federal court, claiming his rights were violated.
