H.S. Baseball Roundup: Johnstown gets past South Glens Falls

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Joe Nellis was 3-for-4 with a run scored, double and two RBIs to lead Johnstown to a win over South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council baseball game Monday.

The Sir Bills (1-0 overall, 1-0 Foothills) scored four runs in the third inning on their way to the win.

Chris Mead was 2-for-2 for South Glens Falls (2-3 overall, 0-1 Foothills) while alex Stark was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.

HUDSON FALLS - Anthony Payne had a two-run single in the sixth inning to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a wis.

Visco also earned the win on the mound, striking out nine and allowing three hits.

A.J. Klemczak had single, RBI and run scored for the Patriots (1-1 overall, 1-0 Foothills).

Nate French had an RBI single for Hudson Falls, while Jordan Williams had a single and three stolen bases.

QUEENSBURY - Charles Peltz had 16 strikeouts and walked three to lead Queensbury to a shutout win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council contest.

Peltz allowed just four hits to earn the complete-game win.

Zack Parsons had two hits for the Spartans, while Eric Daley and Eric Wettersten each had a single and an RBI

Mayfield 7, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 6

MAYFIELD - Jordan VanNostrand plated Luke VanNostrand with a shallow fly ball to right, lifting Mayfield to a come-from-behind win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Panthers scored six of their seven runs in the final two innings.

Riley Yager had two hits and two RBIs for Mayfield (1-1 overall, 1-0 WAC), while Alex Charbonneau had two singles and an RBI. Matt Messina added a triple for the Panthers, while Bobby Gates, Luke VanNostrand and Jordan VanNostrand all had singles.

Maclin Norray had a home run and a triple for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while John Lucas added a double. Jack Hurst and Taylor O'Conner each had two singles for the Bulldogs.

Kevin Shannon was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Canajoharie (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC), while Zach Bowerman was 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Joe Winsman added a 2-for-3, two-RBI effort for the Cougars.
