JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown boys lacrosse team rebounded from its league loss Thursday to Queensbury in a positive manner.
The Sir Bills received three goals from Jeremy Mowrey and two apiece from Austin Brand and David Fahr en route to defeating Notre Dame-Utica 9-3 for a non-league win Saturday afternoon at Knox Field.
"This was a very important win for the program going forward," Johnstown coach Scott Petrie said. "It was great to see them respond to Thursday's loss with four quarters of quality team lacrosse. There are still a lot of games to be played, so our focus is the same as before . . . continue to improve individually and as a team to make a bigger impact when sectionals come around."
Jeremy Mowrey also picked up two assists, while Brand added three assists to go with goals from Anthony Mowrey and Jeremiah Robinson.
Zack Simone returned to the goal after missing Thursday's game with an injury and recorded 17 saves.
The Sir Bills (2-2 overall, 0-1 Foothills) will return to league play at 5 p.m. Thursday with a home match against South Glens Falls.
